Shurr History

I'm just getting started on this and have an outline of the names I have so far listed below. Thanks to Agnes Shurr for providing most of this information. If you find your name listed below or think you may be a descendent of Johannes Shurr (*Schur) please send me an e-mail and let me know.

I am particularly interested in any medical history that others may want to share. I have a hereditary blood disorder called sperocytosis . I think I can trace it to my great grandmother Eva Margaretha Shurr as it is listed on her death certificate as having died from a liver ailment. This was probably indicated by jaundice. The jaundice is created from an elevated biliruibin (red blood cells that break down). This can cause problems with gall bladders. My dad, brother and one sister have all had ours removed because of problems with gall stones. We have been told that the genetic mutation that causes this in our family is relatively mild and not a real big concern. It would be interesting to know if anyone else has had a history of anemia, jaundice or gall stones.
